Connect with Other Quilters through Videos
The Covid pandemic has had quite an impact on how we should or shouldn't interact with others. So many quilt shows, classes, meetings and other events have been cancelled, and we find ourselves spending a LOT of time at home missing that connection with other quilters. 😢
So several of us quilt designers have joined forces to offer an alternative to in person activities. Each month we're offering a free round up of short video demos on Facebook that we call the Designers Tips and Techniques Show. We share our best tips and techniques with you by having a special "video hop" each month. It's similar to a blog hop, but it's all live video demos on our Facebook pages. It's a three day schedule with a different designer at the top of each hour, and we cover a wide range of sewing and quilting topics. Because it's live, you can comment or ask questions and we can respond right back. So awesome!
I've seen some of the coolest tips from all of the designers! They've covered everything from binding to nifty tools to choosing fabrics and everything in between. Plus, watching these videos lets you get to know the designers and you feel like you've made a friend. Definitely a mood lifter!
If you're late to the party, don't despair. The videos stay up on each designer's page after the live event AND there is a Facebook group you can join called Designers Virtual Shows where the videos are reposted for your convenience. I also have a video library here, where you can see my past episodes, plus a few extra demos I've done on my own.
I will be posting the line up for future shows here on my blog and on my Facebook page. Check back often to see what's coming up!
So grab a cup of coffee, tune in to the shows, and get inspired for your next sewing project!
